The '70's popular sitcom 'One Day at a Time' still holds memories for me. The mother, Bonnie Franklin, had the boyish hair cut. The brunette bombshell daughter, Valerie Bertinelli who later went on to marry rock legend Eddie Van Halen and... you know what I'm not doing this lol, I'm not going to list every actor on the show you can Google them yourselves. Netflix has done a complete remake of show and its somewhat intriguing. I will try and not spoil it for those who haven't seen it yet.
Ahh where to begin?.. First the family is from Cuba and features the lovely albeit older Rita Moreno as the grandmother. The rest of cast is a hodgepodge of new talent. The premise is the same as older version, single mother and two kids. The eldest is a 15 y/o daughter who's a feminist activist ahead of her time and the younger a 13 y/o boy more concerned about his looks than grades. Next is the superintendent Snyder who seems to be a middle aged yuppie whose parents own the building. Sets the tone for popping in/ out whenever he wants much like the original Snyder.
The show is 13 episodes and touches on a cpl modern day issues but lacks overall stamina to make it on regular networks. All in all a good wknd killer if stuck at home with nothing else to watch. My Netflix rating is 3 out of 5 stars. Seriously gotta create a G4R emoji for ratings.
New feature.. G4R has teamed up with local comic store Twilight Comics and will dish out a free action figure for fan who dresses up as hero of choice, currently Thor and Captain America. Basically you or your kids dress up as either hero and best dressed wins figure. Contest runs til Aug 5th. Snap a quick pic on phone and send to Gaming4respect@gmail.com. Summer fun and easy way to score a free toy.
GaminG4Respect (G4R) was formed Jan '10 while I was out of work playing video games to pass the time. It was during a game of Madden while I was winning when my opponent pulled the plug and quit. I noticed this was happening a lot and decided to create a gaming co. where guys could play w/o the worries of this happening. At first it was just a GoDaddy domain name and Facebook page but as I invested time and friendships, it grew.
I won't bother you with the details to what brought us here but as of July 11, 2017 GaminG4Respect is officially licensed as an LLC! Nothing really changes for our leagues and communities it's bizz as usual when you play your games but now we can offer up more payouts, contests and rewards! Why? .. Tax write offs and sponsorship baby! G4R has been dishing out standard payouts in the past with no compensation.. basically out of pocket. It was never enough to break the bank and done for pure enjoyment. Looks like our hard work is finally paying off. As of this posting we have custom T-Shirts in the mail to a few select fans and bi-weekly contests every Wed and Sat for followers. This fall we will be branching out to other gaming genres so be on the lookout for our PSN id 'Game4Respect'.
