80's mega band Guns N' Roses was at the top the food chain. Their debut album 'Appetite for Destruction' was a top seller and front men Axel Rose and Slash were plastered all over MTV, radio stations, T-shirts and numerous other outlets. I was in a cover band around this time and anytime we played one of their songs we brought the house down much like the original.
Somewhere down the line communications broke down and interests changed. Slash abruptly quit the band in 1996 and their relationship has been strained since. In a recent interview Slash allured it was because of the negativity going on for so long. Axel was less pleasant with his remarks and in 2010 told fans Slash was a “clueless, loud mouthed, arrogant cunt.” Rumors soared about the reason for the split and I'm sure the truth lies somewhere in the middle. I could go on and on about rumors but that's not the purpose of this article, what is.... is the fact they have reconciled or at least on speaking terms now. Will a reunion tour be in the works? Dunno. A new album? Dunno. Will friendship stay intact? Again I dunno.
What I do know is these two icons are talking again and that's a win win for the music industry and fans alike.
